Please join us at our sixth Community Climate Assembly on Thursday, June 22, from 6-8 p.m. at Harvest Roots. We will bring together community members, stakeholders, and experts to explore strategies to answer the question, “How can Birmingham prioritize investments that benefit all residents, particularly those in underserved and marginalized communities?”
About the Campaign
The Green New Deal for Birmingham campaign aims to develop a people-driven, justice-first climate action plan for the City of Birmingham. The GND4BHM campaign is centered on six pillars: (1) Clean Air, Land & Water; (2) Sustainable Development; (3) Transparent Government; (4) Responsible Energy; (5) Transit Justice; and (6) Equitable Investments. We are gathering community input on each pillar by hosting Community Climate Assemblies, where residents of the Birmingham area can share their top problems, priorities, and solutions related to each topic.
